Accommodation
There are many accommodation options for players planning to stay in Geelong over the weekend. Consult your favourite travel website for further options. Please contact us should you have any questions. Here are just a few recommended options...
If you are on a budget or looking for something a little different from a hotel, you could also try some of Geelong’s caravan parks. Here are a few of the better known ones…

Interstate Flights
Players flying in from interstate can either fly into Avalon Airport or Melbourne Airport. If you have a choice, Avalon Airport is recommended as it is much closer to Geelong. Jetstar operates flights from most capital cities to Avalon Airport, other airlines fly into Melbourne Airport.
Getting from Avalon Airport to Geelong City
Take a Taxi from Avalon Airport to Lara Train Station (a few kilometres away) and board a V-line train bound for Geelong ($2.90 offpeak), alight the train at Geelong Station. Alternatively, a Taxi from Avalon Airport to Geelong city will take about 20mins and cost around $40.
Getting from Melbourne Airport to Geelong City
Take the Skybus ($16 one way) from outside the terminal to the Southern Cross Station in Melbourne City. Walk to the train terminal and board a V-line train bound for Geelong ($6.20 offpeak). Entire journey should take approximately 1 ½ hours. Please check the Skybus and V-line sites for full details.
Both Avalon and Melbourne Airport have shuttle bus services to Geelong, however bookings are usually required. For more information see the Avalon Airport Shuttle website and the Gull Airport Service website.
If you are renting a car, travelling from either airport is very easy. Both Airports have all of the major car hire companies (Avis, Budget, Thrifty, Hertz and Europcar). Just ask for directions at the counter or use our Tournament Google Maps site to generate directions.
